Today was the day: the world premiere of What the Hack! – live and unplugged!

As part of the 37th Cyber Security Day in Hamburg, organized by the Alliance for Cyber Security, we unveiled the board game version of What the Hack! for the very first time.

And what a premiere it was! We ran 4 full sessions with around 50 players—many of them seasoned experts from cybersecurity or adjacent fields. Their response? Overwhelmingly positive.

Highlights from the feedback: 

• “Finally a fun, fresh approach to cyber security awareness!”

• “Loved the team spirit it created.” 

• “The mix of quests and cyber attacks kept us on our toes.”

It was both a test and a celebration. And we walked away not just with great energy, but with valuable input, that will be taken into account in the next development phase:

• Ideas to sharpen our question design

• Feedback to help us speed up the German version 

• Insights into how What the Hack! can fit into various corporate use cases
